The recommended amount is no more than 3 suggested amounts plus a blank/any amount field. Any more than 3 diminishes response. Have the lowest suggested amount about 75-80% of your average ONLINE gift. Have the middle (when using 3 amounts) suggested amount just slightly above the average gift; make the third/highest suggested amount about 4x the average gift.
